Dr. Lang is a physician-scientist with a subspecialty in dermatopathology. Her research focuses on increasing diagnostic accuracy for histologically challenging and ambiguous melanocytic neoplasms. Her postdoctoral research focused on the analysis of primary cilia in melanocytic neoplasms, which translated to using the Ciliation Index in clinical settings. Her work has focused on spitzoid, BAP1-inactivated and blue nevi spectrum neoplasms, and she continues this work while mentoring residents. She is also involved in collaborative research leveraging molecular diagnostic tools and AI with colleagues at UCSF. She continues to practice dermatopathology in a private practice setting.
