Dr Robert Rawson is a medical graduate of the Australian National University and completed his fellowship with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2016.  He was appointed the Cameron Pathology Fellow at the Melanoma Institute of Australia and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for 2016. He took up a position as staff specialist at Royal Darwin Hospital before returning to Royal Prince Alfred in 2018.

His primary interests include dermatopathology, particularly melanocytic pathology, and gynaecological pathology.

He is involved in numerous research collaborations within the Melanoma Institute Australia Translational Research Group at Sydney University and is a past winner of the Premier’s Award for Outstanding Cancer Research.
